Image source for transfers: Alibaba marketplace (processed)
Variable size
A box of counterfeit Christmas balls, created using two methods: traditional metalworking techniques (with enamel) and industrial manufacturing methods, ultimately blended together.
In this project, I trace the manufacturing story behind a set of classic ‘Made in China’ products purchased in the UK. These Christmas balls feature multiple layers of surface. Through the gaps in their vibrant exteriors, fragmented production imagery is revealed, pointing to the invisible migrant labor communities hidden behind mass-produced goods.
